A song about the government's decision (since revised) to allow multiple families to meet for several days over Christmas 2020. To be honest, it never really seemed like a good idea, and then the mutant strain arrived...
Some of the elements in the song are drawn from contemporary news reports, including a suggestion from the Scottish Government that people might be well-advised to use separate spoons to serve their Christmas meal.
I thought about the kind of popular Christmas songs that fervently hope some one (Santa) knows it's Christmas, and hope that he will bring them presents. Then I hoped that the virus would give us the gift of staying away while we all congregated. But it looks like it's not to be.
Have a safe and happy Christmas by waiting until July...
